FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
These are the questions we hear most from homeowners, landlords, and businesses around Snohomish and King County. If yours isn’t covered, call us at (425) 286-0425 and we’ll answer it.
How does Johnson’s Junk Removal price a job?
Junk removal is priced by the job, not by the hour, and it’s based on how much space your items take up in the truck. Bulk, not weight, is what you’re paying for. A quarter load costs less than a half load, and a half less than a full one.
What is included in the quote?
Every quote is all-in. Labor, taxes, and all recycling and disposal fees are already in the number. There are no last-minute charges at payment time.
Can I get a price before you come out?
Yes. Tell us what you have over the phone and we’ll give you a soft estimate on the spot. When we arrive we look at the actual pile and give you a firm, all-in quote. Nothing goes on the truck until you say yes to that number.
What is the minimum charge?
Our standard minimum charge is $149. We run promotions from time to time, so it’s worth asking what’s current when you call.
Is there a discount for booking online?
Yes. Book a quarter truck or more online and you get $30 off.
What makes one job cost more than another?
Four things move the number. First, how much space the items take up, which is the main factor. Second, what the items are, because some materials carry their own handling or recycling fee at the facility that takes them. Third, labor and access, since stairs, narrow hallways, long carries, and anything that has to be taken apart add crew time. Fourth, where it ends up, because what has to go to a transfer station carries that facility’s fees.
Do you charge extra for mattresses or electronics?
No. Appliances that hold refrigerant, tires, and paint each carry a handling or recycling fee at the facility that takes them, but mattresses and electronics are not on that list and we never charge extra for either one.
How big is your truck?
Our truck is 10 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 5 feet high. One truckload holds about the same as 7 pickup truck loads.
What if I only have one item?
That’s fine. Our single item pickup service handles individual bulky items, so you’re not paying for a full truckload to get rid of one couch or one appliance.
How do I pay?
We accept cash, check, and all major cards including American Express, plus tap-to-pay and Apple or Google Pay. There’s no credit card fee, so the price is the same either way. Commercial and property-management customers can be invoiced.
What are your hours?
Monday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Will I know when you’re coming?
Yes. We’ll text to confirm we’re on the way so you can be ready when we arrive.
Do I need to move anything or take it apart first?
No. You point, we haul. You don’t have to drag anything to the curb, break down furniture, or bag up debris. We handle the lifting, the hauling, and the cleanup.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Snohomish County and North King County, Washington, including Bothell, Everett, Kenmore, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Seattle, and Snohomish, plus the surrounding communities.
What do you take?
Mattresses, furniture, appliances, construction debris, hot tubs, and yard waste, among plenty of other things. We also do full cleanouts of garages, estates, storage units, and offices, along with commercial junk removal. If you’re wondering about a particular item, ask us.
What happens to my items after pickup?
Every load gets sorted. Furniture, electronics, and household goods still in good shape get donated. Scrap metal, wood, and anything else recyclable gets pulled out instead of landfilled. A single job’s items can end up at two, three, or even four different locations depending on what you have. Ask about our landfill diversion program.
Do you do demolition too?
Yes. Along with junk removal we handle demolition and deconstruction work, and we haul the debris away afterward.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We’re a fully licensed, bonded, and insured junk removal company. Johnson’s Junk Removal is independent and locally owned by Jack Johnson.
How do I book?
Book online any time, or call (425) 286-0425 and tell us what you need gone. We work Monday through Saturday.
